The Faculty of Catholic Theology has existed since the university was founded in 1582 and is currently divided into four institutes with 17 teaching units and a junior research group. The almost 700 students are currently supervised by over 60 professors and academic staff. The courses on offer include the Magister theologiae, Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Theological Studies as well as Catholic Religious Education as part of a teacher training programme. There is also the opportunity to study for a doctorate and habilitation.
