Forschungsprojekt von Martinus Ariya Seta (in Planung)
The research deals with the relationship between the level of religious tolerance perceived by the catholic students in the Senior High School (SHS) in Yogyakarta city and the religious identity awareness.
The first research question is “Does the religious tolerance level in the school as perceived by the Catholic students in SHS in Yogyakarta get along with the development of the religious identity?” The researcher proposes the hypotheses that the religious tolerance level is inversely proportional to the religious identity in case of the catholic students in the Public Senior High School (PSHS). The hypothesis is based on the opinions of some educated persons getting in touch with the Catholic students in public and catholic private schools in Yogyakarta. According to them, the catholic students in PSHS have a better religious identity awareness than the ones in Catholic Private Senior High School (CPSHS). The expression of religious faith for catholic students in CPSHS is easier than in PSHS. However, the religious identity of the catholic students in the PSHS is stronger than in CPSHS. Although it is only an opinion, the researcher considers it as note-worthy because the opinion comes out of the educated persons.
In addition, the research investigates the factor of the religious family background at play in the relationship between the religious tolerance and the religious identity awareness. It is an investigation of the moderate variable. The identification of the moderate variable enables to estimate the correlation between the tolerance level of the school and the religious identity.
The second research question in this research is: “Does the family background has a significant impact on the relationship between the tolerance level of the school and the religious identity awareness?”
